Partner Michael D. Rounds

Mr. Rounds is a founding partner of the firm and a respected trial attorney whose practice is limited to intellectual property litigation and counseling, a passion he developed while working for five years for the renowned San Francisco law firm of Townsend and Townsend and Crew.

As a seasoned intellectual property attorney, Mr. Rounds enjoys new, factually distinct cases involving divergent legal issues—and the fascinating clients who bring them in the door. His broad worldview was shaped early in life by his exposure to a diversity of cultures and customs on the Philippines island of Mindanao, where his father served as a manager for Del Monte corporation.

Mr. Rounds has a penchant for meticulous preparation and is a formidable litigator who believes the best way to build a reputation is down at the courthouse.

He is a 1987 graduate of Golden Gate University Law School and is licensed to practice in the states of California and Nevada, all federal courts in those jurisdictions, and the Ninth and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Rounds has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he taught courses on intellectual property law and intellectual property litigation.
