What are your billing rates?
Our billing rates vary from $140 to $350 per hour, depending on the type of case, its complexity, and the attorney(s) who are doing the work.
Do you do “contingent fee” work?
On occasion, Watson Rounds will litigate a plaintiff’s case for a fee contingent on the outcome of the case, i.e., a percentage of the gross settlement or judgment amount, plus expenses. The firm currently has a few select personal injury and intellectual property contingent fee cases.
What does a typical case cost?
There are few “typical” cases in Watson Rounds’ areas of legal expertise. However, the firm does provide fee and cost estimates to clients based upon a number of factors related to the client’s case, including its complexity, the amount of damages in dispute, the resources of the opposing party, and other factors.
Do you ever take stock in lieu of fees?
No. Watson Rounds believes that this often creates a conflict of interest between the firm and the client.
Do you practice any other types of law besides intellectual property, insurance defense, and business law?
While these are Watson Rounds’ primary areas of practice, the firm’s attorneys will occasionally accept cases outside of these practice areas. Whether or not the firm accepts a particular case depends upon its type, complexity, and suitability as judged by the firm.
Can you take my case all the way to the Supreme Court?
It is a rare case that makes its way to the highest court in the land, the United States Supreme Court, where the court itself has discretion as to which cases it accepts. However, Watson Rounds’ attorneys appear regularly in the Nevada Supreme Court and federal appellate courts, and many of the firm’s attorneys are qualified and experienced to take cases, whether trial or appellate, to the highest appropriate levels to achieve optimal outcomes for our clients.
Do you accept internships?
Yes. Watson Rounds has welcomed relationships with law students on both an internship and law clerk basis since our inception nearly twenty years ago, and we look forward to continuing this proud tradition for many years to come.
